CALIPSO

General information

The Calipso offers both naturalist and diving itineraries, which is unusual in the Galapagos Islands; it rotates each week between a standard naturalist itinerary and a specialist live-aboard dive itinerary. This yacht is recently refurbished in 2019 and offers 6 upper deck cabins, 2 main deck cabins and 2 lower deck cabins; each with 2 beds that can be used as double or twin, except the 2 cabins in lower deck which only can be used as a twin cabin. Social areas on board include a dining room, lounge, coffee station, bar area, Jacuzzi and BBQ; spacious and comfortable for passengers to rest during free time while taking in the wonderful ocean views. The Calipso dive platform and facilities are brand new, offering top class diving possibilities. The dive itinerary takes you north to dive sites at Darwin and Wolf islands, famous for hammerheads and whales sharks!

About the diving itinerary:
• The cruise highly recommends that divers bring their own gear.
• All guests must carry their diving certification cards for verification. Photo copies will not be accepted. Please bring your certification card and log book(s) for verification of your experience.
• The diving is considered advanced as it occurs in the presence of strong currents, cold water and limited visibility. The diving also takes place from zodiacs. We recommend that you have more than 100 logged dives and have logged at least one dive within the 6 months prior to boarding the vessel.
