ITINERARY

Day 1:

In the morning you will take a flight from Quito to Coca, where you will start your Amazon adventure. Pick up from the airport from where we will take a scenic drive to the Tiputini River, at the entrance of the Yasuni National Park. You will go down this gorgeous river surrounded by nature and wildlife by canoe. Along the way we will have opportunities to spot river turtles, monkeys, caimans and many bird species, like oropendolas, king fishers, macaws, toucans and parrots. We will spend the night at our campsite.
Meals included: Lunch/Dinner

Day 2:

After breakfast we will continue our expedition and we will head deeper into the jungle. Every day in the Amazon is a new adventure: the more we paddle, the more pristine and wild the jungle becomes with new exciting opportunities to encounter more wildlife, such as different types of monkeys, capybara, tapir, flycatchers, herons, sandpipers and hawks. We will also take hikes to learn more about local plants and their medicinal properties. Overnight at our campsite.
Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

Day 3:

After breakfast we will start navigating down the Tiputini River to reach the entrance to the Amarun-Cocha, which means Anaconda Lagoon in the native language. This lagoon is located in the most pristine forest of the area and with any luck we may see the biggest and most beautiful snake of the planet. We also will be able to enjoy breathtaking landscapes with incredible dark and clear waters in a flooded forest. Here we will be able to observe caimans, boa constrictors, piranhas and more. Afterwards we will go back to the campsite and after a nice break in the hammocks, we will go on a night exploration to observe insects, frogs and other wildlife. Overnight at our campsite.
Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

Day 4:

In the morning we will take a hike in the forest to learn about the rich flora of the area and about the medicinal plants. After lunch we will take a canoe ride to a local Quichua community to learn about their way of life in the jungle, their stories and traditions. We will also see how they make the traditional drink called chicha and in the afternoon we will go fishing. Overnight at our campsite.
Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

Day 5:

Today we will have an early morning start, since we want to get to the clay lick as early as possible. This is one of our best adventures in the jungle, where we can find different species of parrots and macaws, and few predators surrounding the area. They come to feed on the clay from the mineral enriched ground, which helps them digest and detoxify from the poisons of their main diet. These places are unique in the Amazon rainforest, because they offer a great chance to see a wide range of Amazon wildlife. Afterwards we will return to Coca, from where you will take your flight back to Quito.
